Windows Mobile System File Access

Post by drkstoner »

I am trying out Salamander in hope to find a faster way to copy files from \windows\system\dumpfiles\ directory on windows mobile phone without have to install anything like total commander on the device but with your software I get an access denied message same as I get with total comander for windows using the mobilece plugin is it just impossible to copy files without using a program installed on the phone or am I missing some piece of info to do this? the main reason for this is I work for a Dev company with multiple chipsets and builds and when I find a bug that crashes a phone I would like to be able to just grab the logs without wasting alot of time trying to recreate it

drkstoner, it's nothing to do with the mobile plugin. Normally it will never give you the access to system or ROM files. If you wanna cheat the plugin - just rename the dump and reboot device - it will help you to grab the file.
Unfortunately - I can not check it - I never switch on Error report on my mobile device. But it should work.
Other way - Resco file explorer (from 2008 v7.02) now provides full access to system and ROM files - try it to copy your dump to another destination and then grab it with Salamander.
