AS 3.0 (PB75 x64) - context menu crash

AS 3.0 (PB75 x64) - context menu crash

Under Win8, after right mouse click, the AS3 crash. No error message, or log, just the Win dump file (hdmp).

Could you please send me the Windows minidump? (Pack it into 7-Zip archive and send it to jan.rysavy@altap.cz).

Does x86 version work fine?

Thank you for the minidump. The crash occurred in combase.dll.
Do you use Rising AntiVirus 2011? It looks like another faulty shell extension, please see http://forum.altap.cz/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=5475
I'm downloading Rising AntiVirus 2011 right now, but the download speed is 6KB/sec :(

Please let us know...

Nope. I use Nod32 v5.
But you can see in the dump, which shell extensions loaded: Np++, 4Sync, Dropbox, Nod32 etc.
And I use Beyond Compare too. I saw it in the "Known Faulty x64 Shell Extensions" part.

They need to fix? Just because under AS 2.54, everything works fine.

Yes, they definitely need to fix it. Beyond Compare shell extension will crash any x64 application with the lower 4GB of memory allocated, when you open the file context menu.
The x86 version of Altap Salamander is using 32-bit version of Beyond Compare shell extension which works fine.

Hi,

im running Beyond Compare 3.3.5 Build 15075 and it still causes the same crash as mentioned before. Even if you deactivate al Options for Shell Integration in Beyond AS still crashes. I had to deactivate all references in Registry to BCShellEx64.dll.

Any other suggestions?

Unfortunately the latest Beyond Compare has still the same bug we reported them. Could you please contact BC support and ask for fix? As paying customer you should receive working version of BC software.

Beyond Compare 3.3.7 contains fixed 64b shell extension.
