Preserving member's timestamp on MVS (z/OS) downloads

Post by Krzysztof Bytnerowicz »

While downloading members from the z/OS Partitioned Data Set, (I worked on it with Petr) up to version B10 timestamping worked OK.
I had to Install B11 fresh and was not able to import B10 configuration, I removed B10 too early, my error.
Since then, members downloaded are time stamped with the client timestamp.
I do not remember if preserving the time stamp was an option in the configuration of Salamender or FTP client, but I failed to find any place to set 'preserve source timestamp'.
Am I missing configuration option somewhere or something was changed in B11 in this field?
I also found that member 'view' and upload works OK, providing ASCII instead of 'automatic' is selected.

I'm not aware of any change in this behaviour (timestamps are preserved automatically when downloading), so I believe it will work again soon.

FTP Client gets date&time of downloaded file from parsed listing - from columns named "Date" and "Time" (only predefined names, but it's probably irrelevant, because I believe you have not changed MVS parsers in FTP configuration). Moreover when date is unknown, time is ignored (and timestamp is not set at all).

If it behaves different way, please send me to email petr.solin at altap.cz: all FTP logs (panel context menu > Show Log > Log > Save All As), raw listing (panel context menu > Show Raw Listing > Save As), what dataset have you downloaded and what was resulting timestamp. Thanks!
