Tabbed browsing - can it be done earlier?
Tabbed browsing - can it be done earlier?
Tabbed browsing is cruicial together with Syntax highlighting for internal viewer for many of us. Why couldn't the tabbed browsing be implemented as soon as possible? Support for Vista and new VS 200x is OK, but waste of time imo, and do not bring any benefit to most of the users. Btw, would it be possible to implement the both mentioned features as plugins using your SDK? I cannot wait that long. Salmander is my full time app at work... so I'd better give it a try rather than learning TC just because of missing tabbed browsing

100% agree. Tabbed browsing and syntax colouring are
the features I'm missing. I love SS and it is my full
time never closing app at work and home but lack of tabs
is driving me nuts. It is a nightmare to jump across
multiple SS instances every time you need more than two
folders open at the same time.
Is there anyone else interested in tabs support reschedule?
Perhaps it will help if we grow this topic big enough ...

Agreed...
I would also used tabs as opposed to multiple instances (I THINK!) if it were available. Normally I keep two or three open at once, because I can leave one and come back and remember what I was doing. Otherwise I tend to get "in the weeds" with things to come back to.

BTW voidcoder...
It is only a nightmare bec you imagine something else. If you didn't have SS to work with, only, let's say "EXPLORER", what would be the level of your sanity?
I'd much rather tab between the multiple SSs than ever have to use explorer to change a file name.
I can't speak about syntax coloring.

This is a smart and fast solution for me

Tabs
Tabs are very useful - I am for it
Tabbed Browsing
I wish, you had integrate tabbed browsing in the newest release of Salamander.
It's a realy helpful function, each internet browser has it, why not your file manager?

Re: Tabbed Browsing
If you compare Web-Browsers with Filemanagers than you should have a look at http://firefly.mozdev.org/thomas wrote:It's a realy helpful function, each internet browser has it, why not your file manager?

Ok, but I'd also like to see a tabbed AS soon. AS is my "main tool" at work and I usually have 3+ instances started...
Bye,
Michael
No tabs
Personally, I can do very well without tabs. Using Alt-F12 and Shift-X for al my 26 drive letters, two panes is usually enough.
Maybe tabs can be useful, but I think they are not that necessary.

No my friend. The No.1 item in the list is and stays is Unicode support. Second is the 64b support. Tabs are I believe somewhere on the end.thomas wrote:I think it should be on the top of the to do list.
Me personaly, I somehow don't miss the tab feature. If necessary, I can start another salamander session so for me is this a simple solution.
